Cala Millor is situated on the north east coast of the island of Mallorca, about 40 miles from the airport at Palma. There has been a human settlement here long before Roman times.
On the outskirts of Cala Millor is the Jakober Art Foundation and Gardens. This museum is well known for its unique collection of child portraits from the 16th to 19th century. There is a sculpture trail in the gardens outside.
The sandy beach is claimed to be one of the best on the east coast of Mallorca. Stretching for 1.5 kilometres, it has a promenade lined with gift shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. You can hire sun beds and parasols for the day. Swimming is safe and there are lifeguards in attendance. For more fun on the water it’s possible to hire pedalos and boat trips are available.
Western fans will enjoy the Rancho Grande country park where they can play at being a cowboy or cowgirl. The park has a western theme and guests are given the chance to ride through the countryside with an experienced guide. Included in the visit is a Rancho barbecue, live western music and towards the end of the visit you will be invited to join in a fun Line Dance There is also a mini farm with peacocks,ostriches, wild boars, donkeys and pigs.
Children especially will enjoy a visit to El Laberinto Maze Fun Park. This theme park consists of a maze to test your sense of direction and includes monsters, clowns, magicians and witches.
There are a few British bars in Cala Millor which offer night-time entertainment such as quizzes, bingo, race nights, karaoke, Play Your Cards Right, and live entertainers. The town does not have a large number of all night discos, however, and is much quieter than some of the larger resorts. It is more suited to those seeking a relaxing, family type of holiday.
